Contacted Philips USA Customer Support & Talked to tech who instructed me to reset via pinhole not noticed before laptop USB port does not always keep internal battery charged. The internal battery is not replaceable. This may present future problems with this model of recorder since I cannot replace the battery in a simple

Technician said that using device while plugged into some USB ports does supply enough current.

Micro Center was not familiar with this product and unable to offer any store help.

This seems to have resolved problem of device not turning on.
