So I bought my son a laptop that cost me a whopping 2000.00 once everything was said and done and I bought the protection for it (300.00). He had the thing less than three months and it wouldn't power on.

I live in Cincinnati, my son goes to school in Cleveland. So we took the laptop to the Cleveland location (even though we bought it in Cincinnati) to be repaired. Waited a good hour to get the thing checked in (after they made us sit and wait for the "free support" first). So they call up fairly quickly (a couple days later) to let us know that it was the motherboard and they would be ordering the part for repair.

I get that they needed to wait for the part (could have spent the money for fast shipping considering how much we paid for this thing). So that took a week. A week to replace a motherboard. I was left wondering if I could have replaced the thing myself much quicker.

I would have spent the extra money for faster shipping on a part. So finally, after a week of my computer engineer major son not having a computer for his classes, they call us up to come pick up the computer. Well they did fix the computer to power on. It does work.

However, when they brought me the computer, they neglected to bring me the charger. So here I am in Cincinnati, driving 3 and 1/2 hours to pick up my son for the holiday and swinging by to pick up the computer at the same time (hour and a half round trip from his school). I pick up the computer and since they didn't bring me the charger with it, I assumed my son had it. I didn't even think about it, really.

Then, I get to my son, we're leaving Cleveland around 2:30 in the afternoon and they give me a call at 5:30 at night to let me know that I neglected to pick up his charger. Excuse me? YOU brought the computer up to the desk for me, I didn't neglect anything, YOU DID. But by all means, shift the blame on someone else.

By this time, I am 2 and a half hours away from Microcenter and my son is home for the week. So guess what? ANOTHER week for my computer engineer son without his computer. I honestly think their negligence is just ridiculous.

I hung up with the Cleveland store and called the Cincinnati store to see if there was anything they could do. They actually had us come in and they were going to replace the charger and then deal with Cleveland for us. Unfortunately, they couldn't find one that would work, but the difference in customer service and just the fact that they tried to make something right (unlike Cleveland who basically didn't give two craps) was stunning. We will return to microcenter to pick up his charger on Sunday when he goes back to school.

Other than that, I will never step foot in that store again. We will deal with Cincinnati in the future.

They are MUCH better. Cleveland just flat out sucks.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $10.
